Nancy Misita

The Smyrna Business Association named Nancy Misita as its Business Person of the Year for 2014. The award was presented at the June 5 Luncheon Meeting at the Smyrna Community Center by last year’s honoree, Russ Lutterbie.

Ms. Misita has been an active member of the SBA since joining in 2006. She previously owned a travel agency and in 2001 formed Associated Appraisers which is now affiliated with Vinings Mortgage.

“There is no more deserving person for this award,” Lutterbie said.

She has worked tirelessly for the organizations, serving on the Board of Directors, first vice president and chair of Adopt a Mile. She took on the task of collecting sponsors for SBA meetings as well as soliciting donations for the golf tournament and Campbell Teacher’s Luncheon.

“I have enjoyed every moment of it,” she said.

She is a graduate of Western Kentucky University. In addition to her work with the SBA she serves on the board of VRS, Vision Rehabilitation Services.

Russ Lutterbie received the 2013 Smyrna Business Association "Business Person of the Year" Award at the June 6 Luncheon Meeting at the Smyrna Community Center.

Lutterbie, a Smyrna resident and decade-long SBA Member, served as Board Member and 2010 President, began SBA's Alive-After-Five, Cultural Affairs, and Special Events Committees, as well as SBA's support of Smyrna's Shop-With-A-HERO Program.

"It's a surprise to say the least. The list of recipients of this prestigious award includes some of the most prominent Business Owners in our community", said Lutterbie. "This is truly an honor. Thank You".

Associated Home Inspectors opened in 2009 providing Home, Pre-Listing, and Environmental Inspections. AHI combines more than 25 years of inspection, lending, and construction experience in the residential and commercial markets. In 2013 AHI opened an Hispanic Services Division and is currently offering an Apprenticeship Program to returning Military Personnel.

AHI received the "Best in Smyrna" Award in the Home Inspector category for the past three consecutive years, by the US Commerce Association's Smyrna Awards Program.

Lutterbie served on other local community boards: Past President of the Northeast Cobb Business Association, (formerly Canton Road Business Association), Board member of the North Cobb Civitan Club, and is one on the Founding Director's of Supersmyrna.
